Amjed Qamar: Hello, my name is Amjed Qamar, I am the author of Beneath My Mother's Feet. As you can probably tell from my voice I am female. However, my first name, Amjed is actually a guy's name, it means "greater glory." It was given to me by my great-grandmother. Amjed is actually short for Amjedanicia. When I was a kid that name was too hard for even my big brother to pronounce, so he started shortening it and that is how it went from a girls name to a guy's name. My last name is Qamar, that's my married name and it means "moon."
