Tonya Cherie Hegamin: Hi, my name is Tonya Cherie Hegamin. When I was born, my parents had a deal that if I was a girl, then she would name me, and if I was a boy, then he would name me. But even though they had the pact, my father decided that my name would be Tonya. My middle name, Cherie, comes from one of my mother's cousins, but it's also because it's French, and we have Haitian ancestry. My sister and I have a pact that our daughters would each have our middle name. So my niece is Olivia Cherie Jordan. So she's named partially after me. And my daughter will be named Loraine, which is my sister's middle name.
