Marjetta Geerling: Hello. My name is Marjetta Geerling. I know that both of my names look really weird. But they're actually quite easy to say because they're both phonetic. And the reason they're phonetic is that both of them are made up. Marjetta is from my mother's side of the family. My great-great grandmother named her daughter after two of her good friends, Marjorie and Etta. I'm the third Marjetta in our family. My last name, Geerling, comes from my father's side of the family. It's an Americanized pronunciation of our Dutch last name.
