Maryann Macdonald: Hello, my name is Maryann Macdonald. That's M-A-R-Y-A-N-N M-A-C-D-O-N-A-L-D. Maryann is a simple name which suits me fine just now, but when I was younger, I thought it would be more fun to have a fancy name like Cynthia or Antoinette. My father said I could change my name when I was 18, but probably not until then. So I practiced spelling Mary Ann in fancier ways, like in two words, Mary Anne, or spelling it Merry, as in Merry Christmas, M-E-R-R-Y. After a while I ran out of new ways to spell Maryann though, and I went back to being plain, old M-A-R-Y-A-N-N.
