Vaunda Micheaux Nelson: Hello. My name is Vaunda Micheaux Nelson. My parents brought books into my life on the day I was born. My mother found my first name in a book she was reading. As a child, I wanted a normal name like Jane or Mary, but as I grew older, I came to like Vaunda because it was different and to appreciate that my mom had chosen it especially for me.
