Zetta Elliott: Hello. My name is Zetta Elliott, and I actually have the exact same name as my grandmother. Her name was Rosetta Elliott, but she shortened it to Zetta with a Z. So I was actually born with Rosetta as my middle name, but I always wanted it to be my first name, especially when I became a published author. And I'm really proud, because I never got to meet my grandmother, never even saw a picture of her. It kind of felt like people in my family were maybe trying to forget about her, and yet I have her name. So every time somebody says my name, "Hey, look, there's Zetta Elliot." "Oh, I'm reading a book by Zetta Elliott." I feel like that brings me closer to my grandmother and it makes sure that she isn't forgotten or erased.
