Gordon Korman: Hello. My name is Gordon Korman. I'm told that it almost but not quite rhymes. Supposedly, before I was born there was some pressure on my mom to name me Norman Korman, but fortunately that didn't happen. But Gordon, I think the story goes that my mom was a big fan of the hockey player from the 1940s and '50s, Gordie Howe, so I'm technically named after Gordie Howe. I live in the New York, so it's sort of a tough name to pronounce around here. People tend to say, you know, Gordon Korman, but I do assure you that there are Rs in both my first and last name.
