Barbara Barbieri McGrath: Hi everyone. My name is Barbara Barbieri McGrath.

My last name, McGrath, is my married name, which is Irish like my husband.

My father named me Barbara because he simply always wanted a Barbara. However, I think he forgot our last name was Barbieri, because Barbara Barbieri was a bit of a tongue twister when I was growing up.

What was worse was spelling it.

B A R B A R A B A R B I E R I.

I think I even spelled it wrong on my college SATs.

My middle name growing up was Ann.

When I became an author, I had my middle name legally changed from Ann to Barbieri to honor my Italian parents who are still happily enjoying life.

In other words, there is no hyphen between Barbieri and McGrath.
