Beastly

Description
Beastly is a modern day version of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. Kyle Kingsbury is the most handsome, rich, and popular guy at the exclusive private school, Tuttle. And Kyle knows it. He openly feels that his good looks and money give him the freedom to say and do whatever he wants regardless of who gets hurt. All that changes when a mysterious girl, Kendra, from his English class dares question his name on a ballot for prince. Kendra's audacity is the reason Kyle comes up with his most cruel prank. He decides to ask her to the dance with the intention of humiliating and insulting her in front of everyone. But the joke is on Kyle. Kendra is really a witch who puts a spell on Kyle turning him into a hairy, fanged, clawed beast. He has two years to break the spell. The problem for Kyle is that in order to break the spell a girl must fall in love with him. Who is going to love a beast like him? Can Kyle find a girl who will love him in two years? Or will he remain a beast forever? Beastly is a 2011-2012 California Young Readers Medal nominee.
